چکیده

In this paper we give an example of a countably-based algebraic domain D such that max(D) is Hausdorff but not regular in the relative Scott topology, and such that max(D) contains the usual space of rational numbers as a closed subspace. Our example shows that certain known results about max(D), where max(D) is regular and D is countably based, are the sharpest possible. Quasi-Polish Spaces

We investigate some basic descriptive set theory for countably based completely quasi-metrizable topological spaces, which we refer to as quasi-Polish spaces. These spaces naturally generalize much of the classical descriptive set theory of Polish spaces to the non-Hausdorff setting. We show that a subspace of a quasi-Polish space is quasi-Polish if and only if it is Π2 in the Borel hierarchy. ...

Strong Colorings Yield Κ-bounded Spaces with Discretely Untouchable Points

It is well-known that every non-isolated point in a compact Hausdorff space is the accumulation point of a discrete subset. Answering a question raised by Z. Szentmiklóssy and the first author, we show that this statement fails for countably compact regular spaces, and even for ω-bounded regular spaces. In fact, there are κ-bounded counterexamples for every infinite cardinal κ. The proof makes ...

Modulus of Lattice-valued Measures

Let X be a completely regular Hausdorff space, E a Banach lattice, and μ an E-valued countably additive, regular Borel measure on X. Some results about the countable additivity and regularity of the modulus |μ| are proved. Also in special cases, it is proved that L1(μ) = L1(|μ|).

Continuous Images of Cantor's Ternary Set

The Hausdorff–Alexandroff Theorem states that any compact metric space is the continuous image of Cantor’s ternary set C. It is well known that there are compact Hausdorff spaces of cardinality equal to that of C that are not continuous images of Cantor’s ternary set. On the other hand, every compact countably infinite Hausdorff space is a continuous image of C. Here we present a compact counta...

On Properties Characterizing Pseudo- Compact Spaces

Completely regular pseudo-compact spaces have been characterized in several ways. E. Hewitt [6, pp. 68-70] has given one characterization in terms of the Stone-Cech compactification and another in terms of the zero sets of continuous functions. J. Colmez [2; no proofs included] and I. Glicksberg [4] have obtained characterizations by means of a convergence property for sequences of continuous f...
